Ava Hearn
Advocate (bilingual)
Ava was born and raised in the Rogue Valley and graduated from Ashland High School. She continued her education at the University of Oregon where she majored in Neuroscience and minored in global health. While at the U of O, she promoted student food security through her role at the wellness center, and eventually founded a free grocery shuttle service to mitigate campus food deserts. Additionally, she did research in the Global Biomarker Lab, where she helped develop a community health survey with the World Health Organization and wrote an undergraduate thesis on the effects of stress on cognitive aging.
She is excited to work at Maslow Project and is very grateful to have the opportunity to give back to the community where she was raised.
Outside of work she enjoys rock climbing, surfing, cooking, and crocheting! You can usually find her at the front desk of the resource center or you can reach her at avah@maslowproject.com and (541)-261-9684
