Chief Clauson is a Rogue Valley native and graduate of Southern Oregon University.  Clauson has been with the Medford Police Department for 25 years and has held numerous positions during his career to include Field Training Officer, School Resource Officer, Financial Crimes Investigator, and has risen through the ranks in a variety of management positions. Clauson was a trained Crisis Negotiator for over 15 years and successfully negotiated positive outcome’s with multiple individuals in crisis. Clauson is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Class 263. Chief Clauson was the Bureau Commander for the Operations Division for three years prior to being elected to the position of Chief of Police in August 2019.
